Charity Carol Concert raises £500!

We’ve raised £500 this year! The proceeds go to 3 Charities – The Children’s Society, Save the Children and The Whitburn Parish Church Choir

It’s the 7th year we’ve done the concert and we think this year was the best yet! Guests were greeted with my secret recipe mulled wine, then had supper of soup and sandwiches. As usual guests sang along with the choir on the well-known carols (some with more gusto than others – possibly depending on how much of the mulled wine they had consumed!). There were readings aplenty which entertained in between the carols.

During the interval the guests were given our homemade mince pies and Hot Toddy Christmas Cake (all nut free) with tea of coffee and the choir quaffed the remains of the mulled wine – so were in fine voice for the second half!

Guests were “encouraged” to pop some money in a bucket at the end of the night (a generous £225 donated) and Latimers donated £275 making a grand total of £500!

When I think over the seven years we’ve been putting on this event it amazing to think we will have raised over £2,500 all told – so Many Thanks go to everyone involved with the evening – guests, staff and our to our choir too!
