Business Administrator

Part-Time 30 hours per week, £14,000-£18,000 per annum

  • Will need to gain secure product & business knowledge
  • Available to work as needed over peak periods i.e. Christmas, Easter and school holidays.

  • Solid understanding of mark-up / margin / pricing structures
  • Stocktaking

 Temperament, willingness and ability to learn are most important, we are happy to train the right person in the software we use and in our procedures

Roles and Responsibilities

Manage incoming / outgoing communication:

  • Post
  • Emails
  • Answer phone
  • Facebook, twitter, Instagram
  • Reviews from google / tripadvisor
  • Deal effectively with customer complaints

Manage Ordering / Stores

  • Maintain stock levels of:
    • Retail shelf items
    • Packaging
    • Office Supplies
    • Cleaning Supplies
  • Manage incoming orders
  • Manage store area, keeping clean and tidy, everything in its place
  • Manage Retail Shelves, ensuring product is priced appropriately
  • Manage delivery notes / invoicing (including make invoice for Gill Gill)

Stocktake

  • Create monthly stocktake spreadsheet
  • Manage stock counting
  • Value stock

Maintain Tilling Software:

  • Update prices
  • Input new products
  • Run Reports

Manage Costings / Bill of Materials spreadsheet for:

  • Hatch Menu items
  • Platters
  • Christmas Orders

Manage Food Safety Admin

  • Supplier information up to date re SALSA accreditation / HACCP policies
  • Collate and keep up to date product specification sheets
  • Update in house “allergen information” (Talech / Excel) appropriately
  • Update in house “once opened shelf life” data (excel) appropriately
  • Update in house lab testing result matrix
  • Create Food Law complaint labels for products

Minute meetings as required

Manage weekly incomings/ outgoings

Manage Cash Payments

  • Produce cash receipts as required
  • Make up cash payments as required
  • Record appropriately
  • Input daily takes
  • Create invoices as required
  • Check till counts as required

Use Sage Accounts:

  • Input invoices
  • Access for information / reporting as needed

Use Website “Content Management System” to

  • Update website content as appropriate
  • Manage Orders
  • Manage Gift vouchers

Manage employee documentation:

  • Keeps up to date employee HR & training files
  • Input hours to payroll / absence/ holidays etc

Manage Social Media Channels

  • Create Content in line with our marketing plan
  • Reply to comments / messages

Other

  • Personal assistant duties as required
  • Proofread as required (i.e. promotional material, prior to printing etc)
  • Create and maintain asset register
  • Register Equipment for Warranties

Weekend/School Holiday Staff for our Seafood Deli and The Hatch Takeaway

(suits people in education, minimum school year – 11)

We take a lot of time and care sourcing and preparing excellent quality produce and are looking for new crew who will fit in with our existing happy team.

Seafood: You will need to be willing to learn seafood preparation, we can teach you what you need to know – you’ll be learning from the best!

Food safety: You will be responsible for maintaining high levels of food safety – having a basic understanding of food hygiene is very desirable. Training will also be given.

Customer Service: Along with food, customer service is our passion, we strive to provide a superb experience for each and every customer we meet, you’ll be our point of contact with our customers – you must be confident talking to people, especially about our delicious produce.

Reality Check: A weekend / school holiday job means you make the commitment to work for us one day at the weekend and extra shifts during school holidays for at least a year. You must be willing and able to work at weekends and on bank holidays.
