Latimer’s Seafood is shortly re-opening their refurbished seafood cafe at their stunning site on the coast at Whitburn, South Tyneside. This award winning Seafood Deli is looking for experienced cafe staff to join the team.

The concept for the new cafe is fresh and interesting – offering a great eat in or grab and go option.  The cafe will use the best local seafood and as such will require a dedicated team who completely believe and understand in the quality and provenance of the food they serve. The Deli side of the business is currently trading well and now there is a real opportunity to help build this new area of the business.

Cafe Manager

Salary – Competitive, depending on experience + bonus opportunities
Full-Time Position

As cafe manager you will not only focus on fantastic food and great customer service, but the business side of things too – managing costs, resources, dealing with suppliers and making sure you lead, develop and manage the team in achieving goals as set out by the owners. Expectations will be high, as will the standards of food safety to which you will be working.

This role would suit an experienced cafe manager who is passionate about food and has had previous experience within cafe environment or a strong Assistant Manager who is ready to take the step up to a position where they will take accountability.

Experience of running a busy catering team is essential, you must have strong business management skills and be very much focused on results – both culinary and financial.

Your stable work history and bubbly, out-going personality will help you secure this role.  The customer base is largely regular and your ability to nurture relationships is imperative to the growth of the cafe.

The real key is to completely understand the workings of a busy fresh food business and commercial acumen is paramount.

Working Hours will be based on 40 hours per week. It will be expected that during the peak season you will work those hours necessary to carry out the duties required for the position, this will then be compensated for during the quieter periods in agreement with the owners. The salary reflects the flexibility required and covers weekend and the possibility of some evening events.

We are looking for experienced cafe staff who can be adaptable within their role and thrive in busy enviroments.

We want dynamic and friendly people who can be man/woman of the floor, taking great care in customer service. In addition to this we want you to have the ability to prepare and present mouth watering food, whilst working to our standard of excellent food safety.  You must be flexible and happy to help out with all tasks as needed.  It would be ideal if you had barista training also.

A stable work history in catering, flexibility, good work ethic, friendly personality and the ability to work weekends are the key to securing this job.
