Developments

Work begins on our new and improved shop and cafe.

After much deliberation we’ve decided we need a bit of a make over and freshen up – the premises that is – not the staff! (although that’s debatable).

We think it would be amazing – and a real point of difference to our competitors the supermarkets, whose fish mainly comes in all ready to go – to have all our fish filleting, crab &  lobster dressing, winkle salting etc happening in full view. Consequently we are re-jigging the design inside our shop  so that you will get to see everything that is going on  – like in the olden days in the old shop.  Fish-mongering is a dying trade and we think this is a great way to help keep it alive.

There’s a few walls to be knocked down, doors to be moved and some new walls to be put in, a bit of plastering and painting but with any luck and a following wind we will be all ready shiny and new  for Easter!  In the meantime we’re still here and still selling our fantastic fresh local fish.

Cafe

All this re-jigging means that we’re left with a nice big area in front of the big picture window which is going to be partitioned off from the fish end of the business that is perfect for our new look cafe!

The Cafe will have great eat in or grab and go options, featuring all your favourite seafood – dressed crab, lobsters, our hot smoked salmon, prawns – you get the picture! More details soon…

Those of you avid followers will know we shut the cafe last year while we considered where to go next, well you’ll be pleased to hear that after many messages of support for the cafe business and how much it is missed we have decided to really go for it and re-open it.

Its going to take a little longer to get all the work done and the staff in place – but we really hope we’ll be open for the May Day Bank Holiday weekend – watch this space and don’t forget you can follow us on twitter or facebook for the latest updates.

Events

While we are doing all this work we are unable to cater for our Seafood Supper Clubs and Seafood Suppers with Demos events.  As soon as we are able we will be booking in new dates, so again follow us on twitter / facebook for up to date news.

Also we would ask if you have been to one of our events and have any feedback good or bad we would really appreciate hearing from you – its the only way to improve!
