4th major national award for local fishmonger and cafe

Robert and Ailsa Latimer enjoyed a splendid and successful day at Birmingham NEC culminating in the receipt of the prestigious award of National Fishmonger of the Year 2015.

Robert Latimer established Latimers Seafood 12 years ago on the former petrol station site which overlooks the sand and sea at Whitburn. The business grew rapidly and now employs 30 local staff having recently extended its indoor cafe to provide an outdoor deck vista overlooking the magnificent coastline.

Previous national awards for Latimers include BBC Radio 4 Food & Farming Award for Best Local Retailer, Best Independent Seafood Retailer, Guild of Fine Foods Great Taste Awards and The Food Standard Agency’s 5 Star Food Hygiene Rating.
