Step by Step instructions – how to dress a crab
Ingredients:
1 perfectly cooked local Latimers crab
If you like brown meat – get a hen crab, but if you like lots of white meat – get a cock crab
Method:
Split the shell, then gather the brown meat – making sure you remove the gills – otherwise known as the “dead men’s fingers”
Crack the claws – if you’re not feeling brave enough to use a big cleaver – why not try using the claw crackers we sell in the shop!
Extract the white meat from the shell,the handy seafood forks are perfect for the job take care to remove the filament and little pieces of shell, fluff this up with a fork
Mix up the brown meat – you can do this with a fork or a blender until smooth
Clean the crab shell and use to serve!
If this is too tricky – don’t worry – just buy the ready dressed crab straight from us! We hand dress over a tonne a week, so we’ve all had plenty of practice!
